Love Stung Me
Love is contagious—let’s spread it everywhere.
It’s an interactive public art project that was launched at Art Basel 2012. The projects mission is to simply spread love and compassion to the masses in a simple and fun way. I felt compelled to step out of the galleries and share positive art, available for everyone to see and experience.
The technology and logistics for this project consisted in a huge projection in main landmarks, each projection has a unique URL where you can order stickers for free to propagate the message. Micro website artwork below.
"Love is contagious—let’s spread it everywhere."
Love Stung Me is an interactive project born from my collection, Meaningful Art. At its core is a masked mosquito, a symbol of how quickly things—good or bad—can spread. Instead of a disease, this mosquito carries something different: love and compassion.
Using a projector, I cast the image of the mosquito onto landmarks across Miami. Within its blood-spattered projection, a hidden web address directs viewers to www.lovestung.me, where they uncover the project’s mission: to infect the world with love.
Anyone can join in by requesting free LoveStung stickers to share, helping spread this message even further.
This project goes beyond galleries and Art Basel—I want art to live in the streets, travel across cities, and reach people in unexpected ways. The mosquito will continue landing in different locations across the U.S., leaving behind hand-painted prints as a lasting mark of love’s contagious power.
