Bringing Miami’s Story to Life
History Miami Museum
Miami is more than just beaches and nightlife—it’s a city with a rich, layered history that deserves to be told in a compelling and engaging way. My collaboration with History Miami Museum focused on making the city’s past feel alive, relevant, and personal.
Through bold creative concepts, archival photography, historical objects, and interactive storytelling, we crafted campaigns that connected Miamians to their roots—whether through unexpected facts, cultural icons, or everyday stories that shaped the city. The goal? To spark curiosity, build pride, and turn history into something people want to engage with.
Here’s a look at how we transformed Miami’s past into an unforgettable visual narrative.
How Miami Are You?
"How Miami Are You?" is an interactive ad series designed to engage both locals and visitors by challenging their knowledge of Miami’s rich history. The campaign embraces Miami as an identity, making it more than just a place of residence—it’s a culture, a lifestyle, and a story that continues to evolve. Through thought-provoking questions, audiences are encouraged to respond and, in return, receive a 25% discount on museum tickets, incentivizing participation and museum visits.
By using multiple-choice quizzes, fill-in-the-blank statements, word searches, and social media challenges, the campaign makes history fun, interactive, and accessible. It sparks curiosity, fosters educational engagement, and reinforces local pride. Ultimately, "How Miami Are You?" positions HistoryMiami Museum as the authority on Miami’s past, encouraging the community to explore, connect with, and support their city’s history.
Before what you know, Miami of "Today" existed in the past.
This campaign component brings Miami’s rich history to life by connecting today’s events with the past through archival photography, historical objects, art collections, and other existing resources. By showcasing these authentic artifacts in a visually compelling way, the campaign reinforces a sense of ownership and cultural patrimony, making history feel tangible and relevant to Miamians. Through a headline-driven approach, we spark curiosity and invite the audience to engage with the full story at the museum.
Miami history is older than you think.
This campaign uses a playful metaphor by reimagining iconic historical figures as part of today’s Miami lifestyle, visually reinforcing just how old Miami’s history truly is. By placing recognizable figures from the past—like George Washington, Van Gogh, and classical sculptures—into modern, vibrant Miami settings, we create a striking contrast that immediately captures attention. These historical celebrities "embracing" contemporary Miami culture—whether lounging on the beach, playing dominoes, or paddleboarding—make history feel more engaging, entertaining, and culturally relevant. The unexpected visual mashups not only spark curiosity but also encourage viewers to rethink their assumptions about Miami’s timeline, leading them to discover the city’s 10,000-year-old history at HistoryMiami Museum in a way that feels fresh, fun, and memorable.
